Oh Shit! That happened to me before... I lost all 12,000 of my Mp3s, and all 800gigs of documents and anime + Drama-- so I know how bad it feels D:

do you have a Dell laptop by any chance? cause mines a Dell and they sent me a laptop with a faulty hardrive.
I lost everything too....it's such an emotionally draining experience....

Backup Backup Backup! I feel your pain, I've been through the same thing. These days though, it's pretty easy to keep a backup hard drive around either as an internal or external disk. I buy a new hard drive every year and gradually cycle out old drives as new ones take their place. Right now I've got 4 internal hard drives and 1 external that total a little over a terabyte of space, one disk is entirely dedicated to work and another is entirely dedicated to backing up that work regularly. A gig of space is less than $0.75 now, so it's not as big of a drain on your wallet as it used to be.

It's times like these though, where you can really pull through and make the best of the clean slate you've got now.

What was your setup like? I assume you were using a single hard disk in a desktop, which is why losing the hard drive lost everything and paperweighted your system temporarily.

Omfg... That's just... so so bad. I am so so so sorry. There is no bright side to this, but at least you could see it as a challenge, maybe? To draw the projects over again, and even better this time?!? T-T Still, really bad... *attempts to rub off some luck on you* >-<

Yeah, earlier today I was completely devastated, but now I'm just like "oh well". At least all my art was in relatively early stages, it would have been worse if I'd lost stuff that was almost finished.
